Please join us on Saturday April 18, 2026 for the Chasing Healthy Smiles 5K! The event will take place at Buffalo Riverworks and is being brought to you by the UB School of Dental Medicine.
We created this 5k as a way to raise funds for BOCA (Buffalo Outreach and Community Assistance) and bring awareness to our community about the importance of oral health and overall wellness. Along with the 5k, we will be offering free oral cancer screenings and fluoride applications! We hope to also collaborate with other programs to offer other educational tables, such as CPR lessons, blood pressure readings, etc.
START/FINISH
The race is set to start at 10:45am on Ganson Street in front of Buffalo Riverworks. Participants will run south on Ganson towards Ohio Street. Just before they reach Ohio Street they will turn right onto the Ohio Street Sidepath. Participants will stay on the path crossing Ohio Street to the turnaround location before returning to the start/finish line. There will be one water station located at the Ohio Street crossing and bottled water will be provided at the finish line after the race. Race organizers are working with Jeff John from BuffaloRunners.com to certify the course in advance of the event!

$5 Kids (12 and under)*Chasing Healthy Smiles 5K shirts will be guaranteed to those who register for the 5K run by 4-5-26. A small quantity of extra shirts will be ordered and distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are gone.
POST RACE CELEBRATION

There will be no refunds.

Professional timing and finish line services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions.
